 Skin Basics
Finding the right skin regime
There are three steps to keeping your skin healthy; cleanse, tone and moisturize daily.  Your skin may fall under one of the these 4 categories: Normal, Combination, Oily or Dry Based on your assessment your daily skin regime may be different for cleansing in the morning or at  night.

 Dry Skin
Cleanse
1. Cleanse your face and neck using a lotion or cream that contains emollients that will moisturize the skin as it cleanses. Wipe off excess with a tissue or wash cloth. The wash cloth can serve as a light exfoliate if used in a circular motion while cleansing.  Cleanse twice daily AM and PM
Moisturize
3.  Apply an emollient moisturizer to face and neck. Use a light weight cream (for foundation application) in the morning and a heavier based cream at night.  Light AM/Heavy PM
Tone
2.  Using a cotton ball, remove cleanser residue with a non-alcohol based toner.  One that contains witch hazel would be good.  It tones, removes impurities, without stripping the skin of it's  essential moisture.  Use toner at night to help remove remaining residue.  Use in PM only

Special treatments - Dry Skin

Eyes
Use an eye makeup remover that contains chamomile, a soothing agent to remove mascara.
Apply eye cream twice daily. Use AM and PM

Exfoliate
Use a mild exfoliant containing beta hydroxy or alpha-hydroxy acids once a week to remove dead skin.  Exfoliating will help your skin to absorb your moisturizer more effectively.

Mask
Apply a hydrating mask once or twice a week.

 Normal or Combination
Normal/Combination skin can almost use the same type of skin regime for morning and night.
Cleanse
1. Start your cleansing regime using an oil free cleansing gel or a mild facial soap. Rinse with lukewarm water pat dry. Cleanse twice daily AM and PM
Tone
2. Using a cotton ball, remove any remaining dirt, oil, and makeup with toner on face and neck.
Use a toner that contains Aloe and Witch Hazel to gently tone without stripping the skin of it's essential moisture. You do not have to rinse toner off. Use AM and PM
Moisturize
3. Apply an oil free lotion moisturizer to face and neck formulated for Normal or Combination skin.  They usually have a balance to control oil and provide extra moisture in dry areas. Use in the morning (for foundation application).   Apply an oil free night cream in the PM . Your skin rejuvenates itself overnight, so the extra moisture is essential to waking up with healthy glowing skin. Use AM and PM
